Time-Lapse Tuesday: Kilimanjaro's Karanga Valley

December 1, 2015 G Adventures

Making camp in the Karanga Valley means you're on the final push to the top of Kilimanjaro. Congrats! While your journey to the summit is almost at its end, the mountain still has a few surprises left in store.

Along with providing a welcome respite to the weary hiker, visitors to Karanga can enjoy seeing the sun set over Mt Meru, 70km (43 miles) to the west. Look up, and you’ll see the snows of Uhuru Peak glowing gold in the evening light. Once night falls, prepare to be treated to an unpolluted sky filled with stars.

Getting There

G Adventures runs a number of departures to Tanzania encompassing a wide range of departure dates and activities to cater for different tastes. We’re thrilled at the prospect of showing you this big blue planet of ours — check out our small group trips here.
