STREETKIDS TOUR PROJECT NEW DELHI, INDIA It is estimated that 400,000 children live and work on the streets of Delhi. This project supports over 5,000 of these street children through contact points, shelters and a health post set up by a local partner organization. These youth centres provide reunification services, health care, education, counseling, recreational activities, job skills training and job placements. Youths in the program learn to be walking tour guides and take G Adventures groups on a unique Delhi walking tour, with the proceeds from these tours supporting their university/college tuition. SISTERHOOD OF SURVIVORS NEPAL, KATHMANDU AND POKHARA The winning entrant in the inaugural G Project, the Sisterhood of Survivors initiative received a $25,000 startup grant from G Adventures to provide job training in the hospitality industry for survivors of human trafficking. Managed wholly by survivors, all proceeds from the project's lunch training program benefit local education initiatives and provide further training to help survivors access dignified job opportunities. G ADVENTURES FOR GOOD PROJECTS WOMEN ON WHEELS NEW DELHI, INDIA Women on Wheels is a training program that provides job opportunities for women from the city's slums and provide safe transport for women travelling alone. Marginalized women receive necessary training to earn driver's licenses and become certified commercial chauffeurs, as well as instruction in English, self-defence, CPR, women's rights, hospitality, and communications. Through this program, we are empowering women to become the primary breadwinner in their family, and solo female travellers arriving in Delhi will have the peace of mind knowing they will be met by a woman driver from the program.
