Twenty-fi ve years is a long time to do anything, never mind run a travel company that stubbornly refuses to stop growing. I've always been a little uncomfortable with anniversaries and birthdays and things like that – they're occasions to look back on the past, while I prefer to think about the future. That's why I like to think of our fi rst 25 years as just the warm-up. It's always been my vision for G Adventures to be leaders and innovators, and I've been fortunate to surround myself with people who think the same way about thinking differently. That philosophy has led us to pioneer all sorts of cool things, like 24/7 service, 100% Guaranteed Departures, our no-single-supplements policy, Planeterra, and, of course, all of our game- changing tours. Our recent partnerships with National Geographic, the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), and Multilateral Investment Fund (MIF) are, to me, proof that we're on to something big here. But what I'm most proud of isn't what our company has done for our travellers, but what our company and our travellers have done together. We speak to people who are eager to discover and connect with our amazing planet, people who want to be a part of something bigger and more powerful than themselves. Whether you're a traveller, a Chief Experience Offi cer, a big partner or a small-business owner just trying to make a living, you're part of our movement. In my 25 years at the helm of this ship, we've traversed our share of clear seas and choppy waters. The world itself is no different; it's full of beautiful things and terrible things. It's our duty as travellers and human beings to turn those negatives into positives. No one of us can do it alone. But together, we can make a world of good.
