A world away from ordinary
On December 14, 1911, Roald Amundsen and four fellow Norwegian explorers
became the first men to reach the South Pole, beating the ill-fated British
team headed by Captain Robert F Scott by just over a month. One hundred
years later, Antarctica remains a continent of superlatives that will leave your
mind searching for words to describe it. The few travellers fortunate enough
to explore Antarctica's vast expanses return home forever changed by an
experience so awe-inspiring that it reaches to their very core.
