Experience the Mekong
Spanning six countries and touching millions
of lives daily, the Mekong is Asia's seventh-
longest river and arguably its most important.
An important trade route, the Mekong also
boasts the widest diversity of wildlife of any
waterway save for the Amazon, and is home
to some of the world's largest freshwater fish.
While beautiful, the Mekong is notoriously
difficult to navigate. Come along with us and
see a side of Asia few ever will.
History made by hand
The fi shing port of Kampong Chhnang is known for its
earthenware, and how it's made has barely changed
over the centuries. Here, you'll stop in at a brick factory
and watch the fascinating production process before
witnessing a pottery-making demonstration from skilled
local artisans.
Phnom Penh by cyclo
Cambodia's capital is one of the busiest and most intriguing
cities in all of Southeast Asia, and there's no better way to
move through it than by cyclo. Settle in to a traditional cycle
rickshaw and move through the streets and riverside roads
of this fascinating town with the help of a driver provided by
a local NGO that assists the city's poor.
Culture aplenty
From the pier of My Tho, you'll leave the riverboat and
travel to Thoi Son Island with the help of local boats. The
island is best known for its coconut trade, and you'll get an
insider's view of the importance of this fruit to the region
and be treated to a special tasting, too.
