Instagrams of the Week: Central America

May 29, 2015 Mark Bonington

From beauties natural to man-made, Central America is an adventurer’s paradise, beckoning our travellers with its sparkling Caribbean waters, Mayan ruins, and lusher-than-lush rainforests. Catch a glimpse of their adventures below.

Can't you just smell the ocean air and hear the waves crashing on the beach? This regram comes from @bekkaleah in Dominical on our Hidden Trek Costa Rica tour.

The Castillo de San Felipe de Lara, Guatemala. Built by the Spanish to fend off attacks from Caribbean pirates, this beautiful regram comes courtesy of @kiwinomad.

The colourful buildings of Flores, Guatemala as photographed by G Adventures traveller @nicolealinde.

On day 12 of her #gadv trip, traveller @hhaannaahhj hiked up Pacaya, an active volcano in Antigua, to roast marshmallows in the magma fissures!

Known as ‘El Castillo’, this step-pyramid is one of Mexico’s most iconic historical monuments. Built by the Maya between the 9th and 12th centuries, it was created as a temple to the feathered serpent deity Kukulkan. Thanks to @lisa_nicole_xx for this fantastic share!
