Exploring Mayan ruins hidden deep in the jungle. Swimming the turquoise waters of the Caribbean. Diving into a crystal pool of water. Sipping a Costa Rican coffee. Central America is teeming with gems waiting for you to uncover.
The countries of Central America stretch from Guatemala in the north to Panama in the south, forming an isthmus of land which bridges the continents of North and South America. The Aztecs reigned supreme until the arrival of Christopher Columbus in 1492. Soon after—with the help of Smallpox—Spanish Conquistadors virtually emptied the Americas of its native population in the name of gold, glory and God.
Immerse yourself in the vibrant culture of these lands and re-define your idea of paradise when you visit Central America for yourself.

Traveller @caleighxox dubbed Panama “paradise” after a dip in these turquoise waters. Who else wants to jump in?
Shot of Arenal Volcano in Costa Rica from traveller @ant_keogh. By geological standards, Arenal is considered a very young stratovolcano, being only 7500 years old.
From Wanderers-in-Residence @uncornered_market in Haiti: “Bassin Bleu – in the hills just outside of Jacmel, Haiti. I have a mixed relationship with waterfalls, as many are oversold. This one, however, lived up to its billing and included a little mini-rappel (abseil), a couple of pleasant pools, and plenty of ledges to take a leap.”
The perfect way to end the day? A cup of freshly brewed coffee and a view over the jungle in Costa Rica! At least according to traveller @racheljaynet.
