Street Art Gallery #1

May 26, 2014 Sacha Mlynek

In the past, street art was often categorized as “anti-establishment” or “lowbrow.” In recent years, though, the pendulum of public opinion has swung dramatically in the other direction. Today, it’s common for street art to feature in major art surveys the world over. Whatever your opinion, one thing remains certain: street art is transient.

While we’ve been covering graffiti-inspired works the world over in places like Melbourne, Berlin, London, Oaxaca, and Valparaiso, there’s no guarantee that what we’ve got catalogued here on the Looptail even still exist. Much like travelling, street art has the ability to make us ask questions about permanence, inspiration, and what matters most in the places we find ourselves standing.

Here’s a round-up of the best works we’ve discovered so far.
