Time-Lapse Tuesday: Adelie penguin commute

May 10, 2016 G Adventures

The Adelie penguins in our Time-Lapse today seem to be in a rush — and with good reason. Many of these Antarctica natives travel up to 13,000km (8,100 mi) every year, migrating from breeding colonies to winter foraging grounds and back again. The Adelie is also a highly accomplished swimmer, diving to depths of 575ft (175 m) in search of krill, their favourite food.

Come join the colony in Antarctica as they prepare for another journey.

Getting There

G Adventures runs a number of departures to the Antarctica encompassing a wide range of departure dates and activities to cater for different tastes. We’re thrilled at the prospect of showing you this big blue planet of ours — check out our small group trips here.
