The Dongdaemun Design Plaza forms the central nucleus of Seoul’s fashion district. It’s curving, ultramodern exterior reflects South Korea’s stance as a leader in global innovation.
But supporting the rooftop walkways, retail stores and exhibition spaces are restored sections of the Fortress Wall of Seoul. This was constructed in 1396 during the Joseon Dynasty to defend the ancient city, then called Hanyang.
Today the two exist in harmonious balance under one roof, pushing South Korea forward into a new age of modernism while looking back to a proud past.
G Adventures runs a number of departures in South Korea encompassing a wide range of departure dates and activities to cater for different tastes. We’re thrilled at the prospect of showing you this big blue planet of ours — check out our small group trips here.
