It’s Tuesday, so once again it’s “time” to “lapse” it up! (See what we did there?) Each week, we share a new way of looking at this big blue planet of ours. While a photo does a great job of capturing what we see with our own eyes, a time-lapse reveals just how little the eye can see. Today, grab a spot of sand and watch the sun set on Venice Beach.
Land developer Abbot Kinney had a plan for the marshland that once occupied California's Venice Beach. His vision: create a system of canals to drain the water from the marsh into the sea, then fill that land with a resort. Today, you'll find a mix bygone eras, of whimsy, and of the rich and poor. What remains is the beach's name, which not only pays homage to Italy, but to the idea that with a little engineering, any dream can come true.
G Adventures runs a number of departures in California encompassing a wide range of departure dates and activities to cater for different tastes. We’re thrilled at the prospect of showing you this big blue planet of ours — check out our small group trips here.
