Visual Adventure: National Parks of Utah

February 27, 2014 Peter West Carey

The magnificent southern deserts of Utah offer a landscape that is rarely seen on our planet. The mixture of sandstone – laid down over millions of years – that has then been weathered by the unstoppable force of Mother Nature’s erosion (wind, water, frost) creates a wonderland of exploration. Rightly so, the most spectacular features of this unique land are often protected by federal or state parks (some of which are easy to access and some not so easy). Whether you are looking to spend just an afternoon looking for some easy drive-up locations that will drop your jaw or even a few days trudging the back country in search of more beauty and solitude, southern Utah does not disappoint.

Please then enjoy these photographs, which are just a slice of what grandeur of southern Utah has to offer in this quick trip through a few parks.
