Introducing the Ripple Score

September 26, 2018

Since 1997, G Adventures has positioned ourselves as trailblazers in responsible tourism. Alongside our non-profit partner, the Planeterra Foundation, we have established travel practises and philosophies that allow us — and you — to make the world a better place as we explore it together.

Now, we're taking a step further, with The Ripple Score, a program we've devised to measure just how much of the money we spend on each of our tours stays in the local community — which is to say, how much we spend on things like homestays vs. hotel chains; or independent restaurants vs. conglomerates.

Starting today, you'll see these scores on many of our tours. The Ripple Score is out of 100; the higher the score, the better we're doing. If the score is low, that doesn't mean it's not a great trip — rather, it means we're working hard to make the local benefit of the trip even better.
