Your planet in 7 seconds: Llama Lip Lock

April 16, 2015 G Adventures

Amazing things happen on this big blue planet of ours every day, and when they do, G Adventures is there to capture them. “Your Planet in 7 Seconds” is a mini-feature to showcase those wild, weird, and wonderful things. Just give us seven seconds and we’ll show you the world!

Once a symbol of status in the Inca Empire, today the llama helps feed and help clothe the people of Peru. No wonder these ubiquitous animals are revered by their keepers. Here, way up high in the Andes Mountains, a Quechua woman from the Women's Weaving Community Co-op shares a moment with a llama friend.

Getting There

G Adventures and Planeterra are proud to support the Women's Weaving Co-op in Peru's Ccaccaccollo community. See how these women take llama’s wool and turn it into woven items that represent their history with pride. We’re thrilled at the prospect of showing you this big blue planet of ours–check out our small-group tours here.
