Eastern Europe sits at the heart of the Old World. But as you’ll see from our Instagram roundup below, this collection of countries will surprise you every time.
First, we have the Church of St Elisabeth in Slovakia. It is also known as the "Little Blue Church" due to the cerulean façade, mosaics and glazed roof. This pic comes courtesy of Chief Experience Officer @tomypazo.
Wanderer-in-Residence Gary Arndt of @everythingeverywhere takes a look inside St. Stephen's Basilica in Budapest. This neoclassical church is named in honour of Hungary's first king.
A violet sunset over the Charles Bridge in Prague, taken by traveller @jessicazuzarte. Until 1841, this bridge was the only way of crossing the Vltava River in the city.
Our own @erinbuttler looks out from Bran Castle in Romania. Visited briefly by Vlad “The Impaler” Ţepeş, this site has become one of the castles linked to the legend of Dracula.
Finally, the Hungarian Parliament building in Budapest lights up the night. Thanks to traveller @gwanghoonlee for this stunning pic!
