On the Kalha Stairs in Amman, Jordan, a new mural stands as a vibrant reminder of what happens when bold ideas and local creativity come together. Unveiled on World Tourism Day (September 27) in 2025, this artwork marks a powerful continuation of the GX Jordan vision, one that celebrates connection, collaboration, and community.
Created by local Jordanian artist @yamen_art in partnership with undergroundamman, the Jordan Tourism Board North America, and Visit Jordan, the mural captures the beating heart of a country where tradition and innovation meet on every corner.
A story told in shapes
From the vast deserts of Wadi Rum to the lively and bustling streets of Amman, Jordan is a land where stories are written not just in words, but in colours, textures, and patterns. In this mural, each shape tells part of that story. A diamond, a star, a circle — each may seem simple, but together they form a tapestry that celebrates unity, strength, and resilience.
Every symbol holds meaning:
– The Seeds of Change: new ideas ready to grow
– The Stars of Unity: shining bright together
– The Pillars of Community: the foundation that holds us up
– The Stairway to Hope: a reminder that progress comes one step at a time
– The Guiding Light: inspiration for the journey ahead
These shapes mirror the GX philosophy: when diverse voices and bold ideas connect, they create something lasting, a force for good that can change the world.
 The art and the artist
The mural was brought to life by Yamen, a Jordanian artist whose work transforms everyday city spaces into powerful reflections of identity, belonging, and hope. His vision extends beyond paint — it’s also about people and community. Yamen is part of Underground Amman, a grassroots collective that’s redefining the capital’s art scene and championing its deep connection to hip-hop culture. Through graffiti, music, and dance, the movement gives voice to a generation expressing itself with colour, rhythm, and pride. What started as an underground art project has become a creative revolution, one that’s painting Amman’s walls with stories of unity, struggle, and joy.
Yamen, his co-founder Hannah, and Underground Amman are helping transform the city into an open-air gallery, a space where creativity connects communities and where travellers can experience the pulse of Jordan’s modern identity.
Celebrating World Tourism Day
In 2025, the World Tourism Day theme centred on connection and sustainability, making it the perfect moment to unveil a piece that embodies both. The mural not only celebrates the creativity of Jordan’s artists, but also invites travellers to see the country through a new lens, one that honours community and collaboration as much as culture and adventure: a perfect fit for G Adventures. Just like the shapes that make up this artwork, the spirit of Jordan lies in its people, each individual contributing his or her own spark to a shared vision. Together, they form a living tapestry of hospitality, heritage, and hope.
 A lasting legacy
The GX Jordan Mural is more than just paint on a wall — it’s a symbol of what happens when we dream big, connect deeply, and believe that travel can be a force for good. Like this artwork, GX is built on the belief that together, we can create something truly extraordinary, which can help make a real difference.
