Your Planet in 7 Seconds: Tones of Thailand

August 20, 2015 G Adventures

For the hill tribes of Soppong, music is much more than a form of entertainment. It is deeply ingrained in the fabric of their community, playing a vital role in religious ceremonies, courtship, self-expression and creating solidarity within the village. Music is used as a practical way of imparting values and stories from one generation to the next. After elders have passed on, it is believed that song allows communication with them in the spirit world. Take seven seconds and enjoy the tones of Northern Thailand in our video today.
